I've seen on a couple websites that they're playing in Columbus, Ohio with System of a Down...but cant find anywhere to buy tickets, not even Ticketmaster. Are they just not releasing all the tour dates yet? Cause Columbus is the closest to where I'm from and I reaaaaaally wanna see them.

it's been almost three years since i started up this community, and now, less than 100 posts later, i'm shutting it down.

so unless someone else wants to take over, this is it. there weren't any ATD-I communities when i started this one, but now there are a few out there in lj land.

At the Drive-In are still my favorite band, but i've got other communities to look after now. it was fun while it lasted.

Anybody know where I can find a full, downloadable version of the video At the Drive-In - "Relationship of Command" Operations Manual EPK? A BT link would be rad. Also...this has been crossposted like a mofo. Sorry!

So there's a guy who works at fearless records who comes into our offices every friday (i work @ SideCho Records / THE MILITIA GROUP) to just hang out or go out to lunch with some of our guys. he's really cool, and he found out that i am a HUGE atdi fan, so two weeks ago at work he walks up and hands me their new ANTHOLOGY cd+DVD.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah...needless to say, i was ecstatic beyond belief. i even gave the guy a huge hug and i barely know him. he's kind of a mellow laid back stoner too, so he was like "uhhhh..."
UNFORTUNATELY though, to all you atdi fans out there, this collection of "rare, live, and bonus" stuff isn't that RARE. most of it is a BEST OF with half of the BEST OF stuff being from "Relationship of command".

then the DVD contains only about 7 minutes of the originally released 25min or so EPK that they had for their album, "REALTIONSHIP OF..."
And it's not even the official music video for "ONE ARMED SCISSOR" that's on the DVD. So when it says "LIVE FOOTAGE" for the DVD, it's just talking about the live clips that are in the unofficial video for ONE ARMED SCISSOR (which the band made themselves though...you can easily find this online somewhere).

BUT...there IS GOOD STUFF. Like the songs that have finally made it to a digital format mix since you could only previously find them on a SPLIT vinyl...and even those vinyls, you can't find unless you're on ebay. Oh...and it also includes the crappy but still pretty rare music video for "metronome arthritis".

http://www.fearlessrecords.com/atdi/

but yeah...DVD only has a few things on it. NONE of which is too rare or "LIVE".
1.One armed scissor (video)
2.Invalid Litter Dept. (video)
3.Metronome Arthristis (video)
4.Operational Manual - electronic press kit (but only about 7 minutes of it...doesn't even show the part when Iggy Pop comes to the studio and they're all freaking out and excited to meet him)
5."Discography" (not even an extensive discography...it only has ACROBATIC TENEMENT, IN/CASINO/OUT, VAYA, and RELATIONSHIP OF COMMAND)

So i'm sorry to burst everyone's bubble with this. Yeah...i was excited when i first heard this was coming out, but am now kinda dissapointed. It's a pretty good "BEST OF" i guess. And if you don't already own all the B-SIDES and other stuff from previous comps, then here's your chance to get ahold of some awesome songs.

ehhh...at least it was free.

Hey all, I'd just like to tell you that I've created a community, themarsvoltauk!
Basically it's a TMV community for fans based in the U.K, but anyone from any country is more than welcome to join also. You can discuss anything TMV related, as long as it isn't about who has tickets or where you can get tickets. I'd really like for this to get up and going, so if you're interested please join. It's early days yet, but I have someone making me a layout as we speak.
Hope to see you there!

Attention, Attention: A new record label has risen. One that shall draw in the crowds by thousands. Gather 'round to hear the nature of it's approach...

This is one of my good friend's, sporkllama, labels and he is just getting started. He will be holding a 2 month tour around the U.S starting in May. Check the site for more details. The bands included on this amazingly structured label are as follows:

Big City Dreams
Stafford
My Getaway
Farewell To Arms

The top three have links, so be sure to check that shit.

Get out there and raise hell for Random Hero! Music is our business, for god's sakes. Continue to check the site(in the banner) for all information needed!

I was just curious what "Lamacq Version" means on these alternate versions?
I realize they're different recordings, but is that the name of the studio they recorded them at, or something?

This was crossposted like hell...sorry.

GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY

you might be hearing this all over the place and are sick of it, but its good for you. this will be a close race, maybe closer than in 2000.
i'm assuming most of the people on this community are in the 18-25 age group (if not younger). but those of you who are old enough to vote, go do it. we need to get the young people voting again! we do matter!

p.s. sorry if this is post is a little weird and a little late...i'm out in Hawai'i and just woke up.

Hey, just joining ATD-I communities to share my fellow love for this awesome band.

At The Drive-In has been my favorite band, for what I'd say.. well over a year. I am currently in seek of a mint condition Hellpaso and Alfaro Vive, Carajo! if anyone wants to send me them. Ha.

I also make custom ATD-I banners, headers, 100 x 100s or whatever, just hit me up, if you'd like one made. I have a lot of free time.

Happy ATD-I-ing.

i know this isn't At the Drive-In related, but this is my community and its important, so deal with it.

for those of you who will be 18 by Nov.2, please go register to vote if you haven't already. in some places, you only have a few days left to do so (some states require you to be registered 30 days before the election) and seriously, every vote counts. i know a lot of people think Bush ran us up shit creek, so now is our time to change that.

for those who will be able to vote in this election, here are the voter registration deadlines for different statesCollapse )
